Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Kojo (アリスとテレスのまぼろし工場) is an original Japanese anime film written and directed by Mari Okada. The film is produced by MAPPA Animation Production and is set to be released in Japan on September 15, 2023.
Premise[]
The initial trailer of the film raises intriguing questions about its plot while also reinforcing key narrative elements hinted at by the director. The trailer hints at the presence of a potential love triangle, as well as showcasing children navigating a labyrinthine trainyard and residing in a seemingly quaint town. However, it becomes evident that this setting is far from ordinary. In the opening shot, three children are shown, with each of them covering one or both eyes as a train approaches. This visual cue implies that these children are likely the main characters of the movie. Furthermore, an enchanting and luminous object swiftly passes through the frame, adding an element of magic to the story.
